When I saw pictures of the US Old Guard musicians at Buckingham Palace in September, 2025, I was inspired to recreate this historic moment in toy soldiers. I already had a couple of Old Guard figures by Marlborough Military Miniatures and have finally acquired enough figures to put together this scene. The model of Buckingham Palace is by Department 56 which I have used many times in the past. The standing Coldstream Guards are Tradition and the marching Coldstream Guard and sentry box are Britains, as sold at Harrods, all of which I already had. The background trees are real and in my backyard.
