Is it just me.....?
Okay so a friend from work asked me to put together a display of Victorian Army figures from various points in Victoria's reign from 1837 to 1901 for their kids school library. So far so simpe right?
So the school got in touch and asked me to provide them with pictures and details so they can decide on the display. Again seems reasonable right?
Then it gets a bit weird. I'm asked to go to the school to have a chat. Three teachers asking me various questions over size of figures what they are aiming for then I'm asked 'Do they have to have weapons?' Well yes they are the Victorian Army the two go together. Then I am asked 'Why do you have to include wars?' Well home service is pretty dull and the reason for the army was to fight. I had selected Anglo Sikh war, New Zealand War, Crimea, Indian Mutiny, Zulu war, Sudan 1884-85, 2nd Boer War And For final big show Queen Victoria presenting the Scots Guards with their new colour. So they ask 'why all these wars against native peoples?' Ah well most of the british conflicts were colonial so they did fight the local populations and not always win. 'Okay so we have some concerns over the violence and use of weapons.' By this point I'm really stunned why not just tell me thank you but no thank you rather than call me in. 'So we'll have to think about it and let you know.' I'm still waiting for a response.

Maybe they are trying to be "politically" correct,
whatever that is?!!!
